Home and School Visits

Ability Focus Occupational Therapy prides itself on being flexible when working with our families and their children. We understand that it can sometimes be challenging for families to attend regular clinic appointments and we offer a range of outreach options to our local areas in the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle areas.

Our staff understand the impact a therapy session can have when working in a naturalistic setting and may suggest a one-off home visit to help develop individualised strategies when working with their families.

Communication is the key when working in the school setting and we encourage our families to attend the school sessions where possible. Feedback between therapist and parents is an essential component of outreach visits to ensure a cohesive approach to therapy is achieved.
